- After you have shown me your notes, you may then do the Patron of Arts activity and the Artist's Life Activity. While doing the Patron of Arts activity, write down what you commissioned (glory to God, glory to city, or glory to yourself and family); then write down who ended up being your artist and what the painting was like.

Major Assessment: Imperialism, Whose Side Are You On?
You will be doing research based on the country you chose. You need to answer the following questions by using credible sources from the Internet; you may also choose to use your notes and book. You will be documenting all of your research in MLA format.
1. Describe where the country is on the globe.
2. Explain what imperialism is and how imperialism affected this country in the 1800s.
3. Explain which country took over the continent/country you picked and the positive/negative effects on economy, government, and culture.
4. Analyze how this helped and hurt the area.. Did this area try to rebel? How? What was the effect?
5. Determine whether you support imperialism or not and why.
Extra Credit: Find a political cartoon that goes with your country/continent and imperialism.

d. Which alliance had the most support according to the map?
